Job Description - Provide day to day technical expertise and mechanical engineering support to mechanics and contractors for the repairs and maintenance of equipment in our processes
- Demonstrate ability to comply with all mechanical codes, standards, regulations and industry best practices
- Trouble shooting, evaluation of equipment failures, and recommendations for repair and upgrades
- Initiation or review changes of designs to improve safety, quality, environmental impact or cost of the production unit
- Provide mechanical engineering support, including development of basic data, design for capital projects
- Lead and assist in area equipment root cause failure analysis and incident investigations
- Creates solutions for a large variety of process issues
- Give guidance on material selection for maintenance and capital replacements
- Submit equipment replacement/upgrade items in capital or major maintenance budgets

Qualification - Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited four year university
- At least 7 years of mechanical engineering experience
- Five (5) years or more experience in continuous chemical processing plant or refinery is a strong plus
- Broad based knowledge of mechanical engineering principles for chemical reactors, distillation, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, and filtration
- Experience with and knowledge of PSM systems (e.g., mechanical integrity and quality assurance)
- Familiarity with RAGAGEP, ASME, Pressure Vessel and Piping Codes
- Experience with materials science and engineering, metallurgical and welding principles and applications are a plus for this assignment
- Experience with plant design and project engineering and management.
- Six sigma green belt certification or higher is preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Willingness to participate on weekend and holiday coverages and calls as needed
